Buurtlinux is a platform that enables companies and individuals to search for Linux support in their neighborhood (Currently for the Netherlands and Belgium). This support is offered by individuals with Linux skills as well as Linux professionals.

I developed the platform with the aim to promote the use of the Linux operating system as an alternative to commercial operating systems such as Windows and OSX (also see “Why Buurtlinux?” – in Dutch). All Linux ‘helpers’ are displayed on an OpenStreetMap map and can be filtered on by their properties (e.g. distance from your place of living).

Buurtlinux was transferred to the Dutch Linux user group (NLLGG) in June 2013 in order to be further developed – something I didn’t came around to due to a lack of time. If you consider donating some of your time to improve it, please contact NLLGG!
